The wiper arms have a nut under a plastic cover holding them on. Not frozen.
If it was not already fixed it needs to be, 2006 models always fail. Have you ever changed the cabin air filter? Water comes in directly above the filter then hits the blower, then hits the resistor pack then hits the BCM then hits the carpet. Electricity and water don't get along.

I thought I had remembered taking the nut off, but they were just really stuck on the spines and I couldn’t get them to come loose no matter how hard I pried. But I might be confusing this with my Ford escape also, it’s been a minute.

i’m not sure about the history of this car. I purchased it on a song because it had through a timing chain. I did the head and guides and put a new kit on it. I’m going to do this also as a measurement I probably should’ve done it a long time ago.

I just find it really odd that the blower motor was working just fine and I pulled it into my garage to swap the struts and ball joints and now it doesn’t work, but I guess stranger things have happend

It was the wiper arm that gave me fits on the passenger side but after some grumbling and friendly persuasion I finally got it off. thanks doctor vise grips and your little brother YouTube

Here is a pic of the butyl thing a ma jig as it sits, I have not pulled it off yet. It does not look to me like it was causing a massive leak but I do indeed see a couple places water can get in. Fortunately for me, I work in a tire factory and just so happened to bring home a piece of rubber that just so happens to be butyl. Making a trip to get some RTV today and seal her up!

No, I was expecting the worst. But I do know this filter has seen better days. I did not even know there was such a thing as a cabin filter. Good thing I grabbed one. Here is another picture of me getting ready to trace and cut another piece of rubber. I got very lucky, I cut a piece of scrap rubber last night at work and folded it into my lunch box and could not have guessed the size any better! Another inch more narrow and I would have been SOL until next week when I went back to work

I had an epiphany and remembered I had a roll of butyl tape left over from a window sealing project. Instead of RTV I decided to go with this instead. Here is a picture of the tape applied after cleaning the surface with mineral spirits

I decided that I wasn’t going to risk this so I dressed up around the screw holes also

And, here is the finale. Let’s hope this lasts me a few more years. I pressed it well around and up and under the windshield with a spatula to ensure a good seal, and trimmed it up a tad nicer than in the picture to make sure I got it good around the bung holes etc. I decided not to cut out around the screw holes and make things worse, lets hope I can get the cowl to screw back in with minimal effort
