Thanks Lucky, this has been eating at me today on top of everything else that was going on this afternoon. When you spend the afternoon talking to the prosecutors investigating one of your employees who ripped you off, its nice to come here and unwind with friends.

 

I do believe that ABS has been standard for quite a few years on passenger vehicles. Certainly since 2006, when the mighty H first made it's debut. Traction control is optional,(maybe ABS is an option on the LS model, not really sure). BTW removing the cap on the fluid reservior has never damaged my ABS or caused a CEL to come on. Not ragging on 'ya, it's just that cars are my outlet for stress, and I like to read up on tech stuff as well as talk to older gear heads. FWIW I don't like ABS, as I learned how to drive a car "old school". Try doin' a "bootlegger turn" nowdays.

The early HHR LS models did not come with ABS. I know cause my insurance is lower due to my 08 2LT having ABS.

I learned old school way as well..1st car was a '53 Chevy 210 Deluxe..

fwiw: my former 1998 Chevy S-10 (base model) came standard with ABS.

 

When I took my brakes apart the one time it did this.. There was a tab on the pad that slid into the caliper, and it wasn't lined up right so they weren't touching like they should..they were spaced apart a little bit. Just enough to make the pedal go to the floor.

 

Did you bleed the master cylinder correctly? That nis essential.
