Hello, I'm new here. I have a problem with my a/c last year it worked fine when I got the car in June. Now it just blows hot air and my b/f tried putting some freon in it (he has done it before but never had this problem) but it will not take any freon!!?? Does anybody know what the deal is? I'd rather not take it...actually I'm not taking it to a professional. This is a car I do like but I just got it to drive back and forth to work and don't have the money to put in it for a/c as far as a shop goes. I have another car I love but I need to repair a good bit on it. Any help I would greatly appreciate! Thanks

 

Welcome to the site, if he added Freon before, possibly there’s no need for more Freon, the system only takes so much. Over filling it is a problem.

 

It is dangerous for non-professionals to do anything on the AC. Willy-nilly adding freon is "stupid".
Did he consider the compressor? If it is not running you can't pump freon.
Considering your parameters you should get used to driving with the windows open.

 

Does you b/f have a/c guages? If so I can send you pic of chart with high and low pressures at given ambient temps.

 

Looks like another one and done.
