car starts up, but will not drive or accelerate when in gear. at first car or engine would rev up when gas was pedal was pressed but would not accelerate or move more than a crawl or inch by inch, even if I pressed down on the gas pedal. now when car is started it turns on, battery is good, but won't turn over. and flutters when the gas pedal is pressed.

also, initially, when car was turned on and in reverse the brakes wouldn't work or would not engage and stop car. and now NOTHING besides battery, is working

Well, sounds like a real problem there with your 2007 HHR. How many miles on it, and has it been properly maintained with regular oil and filter changes etc.?

You say it starts and turns on, but won't turn over - and that does not make sense at all.

You also say "now when car is started it turns on" - and later say "and now NOTHING besides battery, is working". What do you mean by that, as it doesn't make sense either.

So I have to ask..... is the check engine light (CEL) on? If so, have you had the error codes read? How do you know the battery is good? Have you had it load-tested?
