Well, just thought I'd through my 2 cents in. I had the clunking issue, they replaced my intermediary shaft about 2 months ago and it went away. Now, its back, and about 10x louder than it was.

EDIT: My HHR just turned 10,000 miles last night.

I just replaced my sway bar links with the Moog ones (as everyone has suggested) today, and it is a night-and-day difference. Absolutely cured the issue 100%.

I replaced the end links at the end of the summer, now after replacing the front bearing assams. I saw that the sway bar mid point bushings are bad.
Did chevy use more that one size bar in 06?
I want to replace them with poly greasable bushings.[/I]

When you do the sway bar end links, don't forget the sway bar bushings. Cheap rubber from the factory and likely part of the cause.

I would say Yes, I know the 2LT with the FE3 sport suspension & a 1" front sway bar.

IIRC the LS has a smaller bar..

I would just slide under & measure yours, to be sure what you have.
Then no mistakes..

I measured mine from above, you can see it plain as day in the engine compartment.

Are these covered under the 36K warranty or the 100K warranty...the hub bearing assembly fell under the 100K so just wondering

Cluncking Noise

Front-End Clunking= GM junk...but I love the stupid car....my mechanic checked all the ball joints etc nothing, said maybe it's the stabilizer bar link...and then said "it's no Lexus"
