Update time!

While driving in town today, I released the clutch pedal and heard a metallic 'tink' accompanied by the feel of something dropping on my foot.

The return spring I had replaced new 4 years ago just broke. On the side, not where the original was wearing in the center.

Just ordered up GM P/N 25867553, the correct part for the SS MU3 manual transmission.

It looks like the GM P/N 25867552 is the correct part for LS/LT 2008-2011 M86 manual transmission.

So I swapped my original spring back in(yes, I do tend to hang on to stuff), until the new part gets here.

Randy
I seem to recall that spring was on a back order status at one time ?
Or am I thinking of the clutch pedal pivot bushings ?

It may have been, years ago. I had no issue getting it 4 years ago, and this order is already shipped, should be here by Saturday. It's a kit, with the spring and bushings.

I can't imagine how much practice it would take to be able to learn that!

Got the parts on Saturday as promised. The install takes maybe 5 minutes. Anyone whose clutch pedal hangs up, or is replacing their spring, should have a look at this repair how-to, see if you may have a similar issue. This shows why I had the issue with the original spring.
