Hey guys, new here... But my 2009 Chevy HHR LS ECO is having some trouble... soo it's been running bad for about a week, like miss firing & sputtering, acting like it's gonna cut off, then 2 days ago it finally cut off on me & displayed "engine power reduced" the check engine light had been on but went off... so the air filter was taken out, it's pretty dirty, the spark plugs were checked & probably could be replaced... I had a mechanic friend look at it & We are thinking maybe the "ignition control module" needs to be replaced, don't think it's a head gasket although there was steam/smoke coming out of the radiator when the cap was taken off, not exactly sure what that means.. any ideas?? Don't have a lot of money to put into it but if it needs to be done then it needs to be done, I gotta have my car.. I'm gonna call the Chevrolet place in the am about the "ignition control module" bc advanced, napa, nor auto zone, Noone carries that part.. so we have to get it from the dealership or the junk yard.. let me know what you guys think please, any advice will help!! Yeah, if we can get it to make it to auto zone were gonna make that trip tomorrow & I'm also gonna call the dealership in the morning, I will post the codes on here if we can make it to auto zone, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what might be going on, thanks!

I split your posts off into a new thread Cnicole, tagging onto a "Dead Thread" can sometimes end up with the new posts being lost in the background noise here.

I'll second Oldblue's advice, have the codes pulled and then post 'em up here, that way we'll not be throwing out guesses.
