Yep that is my full intention. Have already left a message for the guy that I trust out there. Hopefully he'll get it first thing.

 

Well the car is finally fixed after a weird week. They did diagnose the problem as a timing belt issue. It was the timing belt/ chain slipped (don't remember the exact word he used) and bent the valve. There was some back and forth about the warranty because part of keeping it involved routine transmission flushes which was fine print and I didn't see. There is another reason I'm not a fan of transmission flushes is because in 2 different cars we have lost transmissions only a few months after the flush. But never mind that for now. The adviser went to the vice president of the dealer and pleaded my case and got them to not only keep the warranty on the car but fix it too. Good thing, when they got further into the engine they found a broken piston. By the time I got it towed to the dealer last Monday it wouldn't start, so basically it kept starting long enough for me to get it home and switched out with my van then it stopped starting. That was lucky! So we got the car back Wednesday with a new engine and a big sigh of relief. He told me that saved me about $3900. He basically saved my neck because my second car, a Venture, is not 100% and I didn't need to lose this car and I'm not quite ready to trade it in. Now with a new engine it is stuck with me! Lol! So that is my little excursion with my HHR this time, I just hope the flush doesn't cause this one too fail too, though it is also covered under the warranty! Thanks for all the advise given!

Fwiw. Transmissions flushes would have no bearing on the engine failure you had. Besides that, maybe the warranty company should read the GM factory recommended maintenance regarding changing/flushing the trans. fluid.

 

Yeah I know the transmission didn't cause the engine failure unless I had it out of gear and over rev it. It's just transmission flushes I have had in the past have lead to failed transmissions but, at least, that should be under their warranty, too! But yes it is fixed and I am very glad!
