Well I was back east (VA)- I live in Colorado- took it to the dealership and had it taken care of $862.86. If I was home would've done it myself, if I was over the 36k miles would've never taken it to the dealership. Live and learn I guess. But am taking it to get the grille on next week- thanks for the TSB- hopefully it will keep it protected. But in the TSB it says that there is a large gap which allows rocks to get up there- so isn't that a manufacturing problem and now the newer HHRS come with the grille don't they?

NO, no grill that I have seen. Just what is installed by the owner.

They do have a little plastic gaurd on 08 and newer, but it isnt worth any thing. It wouldnt protect anything, specially from a rock. My opinion dont even bother getting it and just do the lower grille mod that involves getting the raingutter mess.

You have a deductable?

My rates didn't even up after my truck was stolen. Comp shouldn't raise your rates, collision on the other hand.....

I dont think a claim this small would raise your rates, id def file. Your deductible is bound to be cheaper than the 860some odd bucks.

Yeah, it can't hurt to check with the insurance guys. My comp deductible is $50. From that I got my Mazda repaired after hitting a deer - left front fender, grill, hood, headlight, a/c compressor, and even new front tires. No raise to the rates.

Take the TSB to a cheap lawyer and get a letter written. It's gonna cost GM a lot more than what it cost to fix it if you take them to court. They deny claims because most people just roll over and take it in the shorts. They know they have a problem and should of at least notified buyers of it. They could have made a cheap plastic grill to provide protection and given it to owners. To do it right, they should have called owners in to have it installed. Anyone in management who has a business or accounting degree should be fired immediately. They worry more about the bottom line than customer satisfaction.
