Cranks, but will not start. Whole slew of repairs
P0016 pretty much proves the crank and one cam sensors is working fine, and telling you that the camshaft isn’t where it’s supposed to be relative to the crank. If it’s a 2.2 there’s only one camshaft sensor. If it a 2.4 there is a sensor for each cam and P0016 says its the intake cam that’s off. Either way, a P0016 or P0017 (VVT only) is almost always the timing chain. But if it’s a 2.4 it’s variable valve timing so it COULD be caused by a gummed up intake solenoid valve or phaser.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START AGAIN until you prove the timing chain is phased correctly, and the tensioning system is functioning correctly.
So, asking again, is it a 2.2 or a 2.4?
