I'm not sure that was the switched they replaced. It was the TCC switch that has something to do with controlling the torque converter's locking and unlocking. I know they had the hood up when they did the job. I didn't loose any programming so I don't think they had the hood up just to disconnect the battery. But - I'm certainly not an expert...
