dome light removal

dome light removal

im probably missing this forum somewhere else... but im on my cell phone and its pretty much impossible to do some searching. does anyone know how to take off the dome light? the switch is broken and i thought maybe there might be something stuck up in there... if someone has already posted this it would be great if you could link the thread

I have had mine off several times. It just snaps off and on. I will warn you though that snapping it back on can be a *****.

Here are two images posted in thread 11256 by RUDEINC in 2007, from the looks of the tabs one can see why it may be difficult to remove and re-install the housing that retains the bulbs and switches.

The outer bezel can be removed after removing the clear plastic lenses, using a small thin flat implement pry them down along the center area on each side of the main switch, following this; you will observe four tabs that can be moved slightly this will allow removal of the out bezel, from there you may want to contact RUDEINC or another member that has experienced the next step, via a PM. Haven't gone that far yet..
