You should see the "key" for my wife's Encore. A generic thing just like that with a squiggly groove in it. It pops out of the fob like a jack knife. It's essentially the same thing as keyless but with a pretend key that you have to put into the ignition switch.
Thanks for all the advice. I looked at Dorman but couldn't find a programmable 6 button fob. I emailed for clarification.

The fob is not the important part. The after market fobs they sell don't always work, that's why I said that the programmer works for genuine fobs. Once the fob code is matched to the car code it should work and you said you see no benefit for the rear doors.
Aworking fob may not help if the latch actuator is malfunctioning.
You can get the module and fob on ebay for a good price.
I believe it IS the actuator and my simple fix was to disconnect those leads. This would give me an Idiot door that is harder to lock your keys inside.
