Before heading out last night I grabbed your standard bath towel (folded up 4 times into a square) and put it behind my lower back. Talk about an instant 50% improvement. Decided to detour and made the 45 minute run to wally world. I found a black 4" foam lumbar support cushion for like $6. Damn... 75% improvement... It's nice to feel somewhat human again driving my car My complaint with this cushion is it's a little too thick. Anyone know where I can find 1.5" sheets of that memory foam crap? I'd hate to butcher a mattress topper...

I'm wondering if the lumbar support in the chair is screwed up. It hits my back too high... (I'm 6'0, 32 inseam)

Just walk into the mattress store with a pocket knife and cut off a sliver. They will never know. That or buy a pillow or something and cut it.

The seat is one of the things I like best about my HHR. I'm 6-2 and my head hit the ceiling in the first one I sat in because it had a sunroof. I would like more upward tilt in the steering to make getting my legs in and out easier.

I am going to switch mine to leather and see if that helps any. I take routine 6 hour drives to my parents house and after the first hour my ass hurts so bad, i'd consider walking the next 5 hours. Hopefully leather seats will help a little.

My SS has a sunroof, and had the performance seats. Had being the operative word, because they lacked decent lumbar and sat too high. The silver surfer now has a pair of Corbeau seats. Much better now. FYI though, no one makes brackets, so I had to fab up some out of 1/4 plate steel. Selling the original seats helped bring the cost of replacing them more reasonable.

Thumbs up Raising front of seat

When I got my HHR, the seat seemed to offer little 'behind the knees' support, even with the power seat all the way up in front, and all the way down in the rear. I'm 6' 1", and all legs. I modified the front seat brackets to raise it one inch. It involved some cutting and welding, but it was definitely worth the trouble. Doing this takes some of the weight off your a$$, and transfers it to your upper legs behind the knees. Works really good for me... I did the same to my '89 Cavalier real early on.

I drove several HHR's as rental cars before I bought my 09 LS. The seats are the most comfortable that I have been in and I am 6' 1" and 36 inseam. I really like my HHR.
