Driver's Seat Mounting Bolt

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a seat mounting bolt shearing the head off. I was cleaning the interior this weekend and noticed a bolt head on the floor. After some searching, I found that it came from the driver's right rear mounting bolt.
I doubt it, but does anyone know if GM would cover this repair; this seems like something that shouldn't break unless I was in an accident. I am past the 3yr/36,000 mi warranty and just wonder if there is anything that GM would be able to do to help.

Wow. Really? That is a mighty big bolt to snap the head off. It was either loose and finally broke or possibly damaged at the factory. Either way I would ask the dealer to take a look. Also you need to closely check the threaded part of the seat bar for damage.
Funny thing is, I've got 4 of those bolts(extras) in my spare parts bin.

Could have been a defective bolt. All manufacturers have had trouble with those over the years. It might be worth it to talk to the dealer and let them look at it. I don't think even in an accident the head would come off of that bolt.

Get to the dealer and have them check it out, probably a defective bolt, but they almost never break.

Since you're out of warranty I'd just ask that all the bolts be replaced as a goodwill gesture.
