Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
DonBretw, It's been a while but I traced the yellow wire all the way back to the BCM connecter and the wire is good ( minimal resistance with an ohm meter) Do you know which pin from the BCM to check? Also how does the harness disconnect from the BCM? I would hate to break it as I am quite capable of that.
Hmm. Back in post #1 you stated you could "fix it" by jiggling the wire harness.
If so, then maybe your recent testing at the BCM was inaccurate. What I mean is, did you test the other BCM outputs that correspond to the lights that are working ?
Just don't want you to condemn the BCM if maybe it was a test error( still basing my opinion on your "fix' from before.)
Since it is highly unlikely the BCM would break, just that one function, I would start looking toward the multi function switch.
I just don't know how a computer could forget one 0 or 1. Old fashioned flasher; yes. I guess it could, but pretty unlikely.
The multi function switch (turn signal stalk) has 2 connectors, this is the one for the turn signals. I think the signal sent is "ground". So, when turned to right pin H should have continuity to ground, otherwise it should be open.
Thanx for all the help. My latest test was to activate the emergency flasher and insert a test light probe in the BCM X3 A9 and no light, I then moved the probe to A12 and the test light flashed. I used the same connections while pressing the brake pedal and got the same results. I'm stumped.
