Engine light & T/C light on, why?

I have a 2006 HHR, 2.4LT... I had the front rotors and pads changed, as well as the rear drums... Now my T/C light comes on everytie I drive it for about a half hour or more, and then it shifts rough from take off from stop... Next day, same thing. The shop that did the work says that both my control arms need replace, for 1 bushing right side and 1 bushing left side has gone bad... Also my engine light has come on a couple times... I did not have this issue before the work was done, except the day before I took it in because the front end shimmied when braking... I also changed the oil and air and cabin filter as well...

Before all this, it drove excellent!

Any help???:

Not trying to be a smart-a$$ here - but come on man - when the engine check light gets lit, you need to have the codes read to determine what the problem is. We certainly cannot give you any educated guess as to what the resolution is without the code(s).

So, get the codes, and post them here, and we will certainly see what advice we can help you out with.

Like Whopper said it would help to have your codes pulled. This can be done for free at autozones and other places. But just from reading what you did or had done to your car I would suggest you make sure you plugged anything and everything back in after changing the air filter. The maf is coming to mind right now. For some odd reason these cars with automatics get tranny codes for every single thing it seems. Also make sure that the shop did not damage or unplug the abs harness if you have abs that is.

to the forum venomlegionsHHR!

To echo my compatriots above, have your codes pulled at your local Advance/Autozone/NAPA, etc. and then post 'em up here. While the codes won't exactly tell you what is going with a 100% certainty, they sure are a good start at the diagnosis of your problem.

Without them, we'd only be firing guesses at you.
