O'Reilly's said they could test the TB if I brought them the car or took the part off and brought it in. Not sure I feel like going through all the work, and I definitely ain't risking driving the thing anywhere.

Is there a way to test this myself?

Also, is there any chance I got a bad ECM? Would two separate ECMs fail under the same conditions and one within such a short time of being reinstalled on a different vehicle? It seems so unlikely to me, but the ECM does have a one year warranty, and I should probably cover all my bases before throwing more money at this thing. It is still throwing the P0601 error, but it seems that could be caused by pretty much anything that malfunctions and crashes the computer by sending it bad data, but maybe I'm wrong...

I had the same P0601 code on our '06 and I read somewhere about the TSB about the ground terminal causing errors in the ECM. I removed the ground nut with the two connectors (which was not tight), cleaned the bolt and connector terminals, reassembled it all, reset the codes and it solved the problem.

Give it a try. I can't remember the original thread I found here in the forums, but good luck.
