Then I am just a sucker. Please...shoot me for it. I didn't know that HHR forums existed until I was given a business card to come here nearly 4 months after I got my car.
As stated...I am the idiot. I didn't do research and took the word of a dealership salesman that my brand new car would last. Shame on me.

Please do not tell me you are suggesting that a cars paint finish should not last 2 weeks and 1000 miles without problems

True...it is used. I should have known that it would get so many dings and chips right away from driving on the city roads. I shouldn't expect a car not to get such damage.

Some cars don`t make it through the trip home without getting damaged.
How about this, instead of contacting the BBB about this problem, how about contacting you congressman/person and complain about the conditions your new car encountered while driving on the public roads, which your TAX dollars pay to be maintained in such a way that you BRAND NEW car isn`t damaged after 1000 mi. or two weeks, which ever comes first...

Yes, some cars do receive damage as soon as leaving the dealership. I've never had it happen before to me with any of my other new cars during entire ownership of those vehicles which leads me to believe there is a problem with this car. As stated before I enjoy the looks of this car but come next purchase time I know that I will heavily consider what has occured and what the manufacturer was willing to do which will most likely lead me to purchase another Make.

I'm not calling you an idiot either. I'm sorry if you took it that way. I'm just tired of all this complaining about and trying to get free stuff off of GM. Not just by you of course buy tons of people in the almost two years of owning an HHR. This forum is so unlike other car forums. Most people on car forums talk about how great their cars are and all the cool stuff they have done to them. We're no longer here to discuss the vehicles we drive but to complain about how horrible they are and how horrible GM is. Jesus people, we bought the damn cars so now we have to live with it. There is no reason to cry over every little issue. I thought all this running board crap had just about went away because I've been listening to it for two years now and it's all over every HHR forum. If people would just research the damn car before purchase they wouldn't be popping up clueless or having their so call issues and problems. Every new vehicle I have owned has had small issues after purchase. I took the car back in, got it repaired under warranty, and didn't demand free stuff from the dealership or manufacturer. I have had my HHR back in for several small issues and TSBs but I don't post about them because I feel there is no need to. Why sit and bit*h about them on the internet to a bunch of people that probably don't even care when I could just get them fixed.

Which shows what kind of problem it is. GM Canada took the appropriate measures. Why shouldn't we expect the U.S. to do the same. If you are tired of reading about it don't enter these threads.

Um, it's the same person(s) asking/complaining at the different sites. Guess then we all should move to Canada then. Not only will we get free running boards, we will also get free health coverage!!

C'mon Jay. Look at the number of threads and the number of people that have posted about the problem on this site alone. Yeah, some people may be on multiple sites posting the same things but it's not like they don't have the right.
