Etching of paint on rocker panel and rear door rock guard
Well GM FINALLY agreed to repaint the HHR, but they want $525.00 + 80.00 Labor for the running boards, and will not repaint the HHR unless I buy the running boards from them. P/N 12499501.....Black (41U) with Aluminum Support Plate.
Good / Bad what you guys & gals think.

My
My reasoning for not having to pay for the labor is that they know there is a problem. Had they informed me and I still decided not to install them then yes I should pay for labor. However, I should not have to pay extra over what it would have cost had I gotten it when new when I didn't know about the problem, they do and still don't inform the customer.
So it looks like the solution is running boards, mud guards, AND fender pads.
In the 6 months that I had the HHR before I put the boards on, I ended up with light sandblasting on the paint at the bottom of the door (directly below the sneaker in the 2nd pic
). The pads are also lightly sandblasted, but I don't really care as much about those, as that's their job.
I'll take it in and see what they will do (they are usually pretty good). They may not do anything since it's a lease, but I am going to tell them that I will be buying it out at the end of the lease, so I want it fixed.
