First warranty visit (I hope)

Hi guys,

I'll need to schedule an appointment for the saftey recall, but I've got some other things, too:

1. I'd like to install the condensor/radiator plastic protector.

2. My steering wheel column creeks and rattles when turning or putting pressure on it. Does this sound like the steering problems others have? It doesn't sound like any car I've owned or driven before.

3. The rear hatch glass- I can see part metal bracket that seems to be out of place - it's just on the right side of the inside where plastic and glass meet. It's scratching the inside of the glass. I bet it could get worse. Does this sound like a classic workmanship defect?

4. The typical 'water droplets' in rear Chevrolet emblem problem.

So - how do you do this? "Hey, I need to get it in for the recall, and then there's some possible warranty work I'd like a service advisor to look at?"

I bought it used and it has 15,000 so I don't have a sales relationship with the dealership.

Good pragmatic advice needed!

Last time I had a new vehicle we had a friend that was a service advisor.

pretty much, how you said it. They look at it, verify/find problems, order parts, give it back to you, and you will bring it back when parts come in unless it a safety issue. Parts should take more than 5 working days at the most should be able to get them overnighted since GM pays for shipping unless dealer has parts in stock.

Sounds like all warranty work that should be covered except they may bulk at putting on the condensor protector, which they say isn't isn't a recall issue. Some dealers will do it for free or charge you the 15 buck or so for the little protector that is now on the new models.

I had the recall done and while in they noticed the steering issue while driving it and fixed that FREE and than I mentioned the condensor/radiator plastic protector and they added that FREE. You shouldn't have any issues.
