Glove Box
No arm and recall info please?
No, I didn't get anyone to sell me a replacement for the rear wiper arm that I broke, despite everyone who deleted one where there's no rain.
I still would like more information on the safety recall - what the replacement item was and how to tell whether it was installed or pitched by the former owner.

That piece was a from a recall When I bought my 07, I was told all the recalls had been completed. If someone could take a picture of the piece and show how it's installed, I would appreciate it. I'm sure the former owner received it, but there's no way to confirm he actually installed it. Thanks.

Free Replacement at Dealer, February 2012
My addon part from the recall was missing.
I went to the good local dealer, and they charged me $5 for the part, since the recall automatically closed 60 days after the parts were sent out. They also gave me an 8-page recall notice, with a phone number to call at Chevrolet Customer Service for further assistance. The information listed an online video of the installation, and also contained detailed pictures and instructions.
I went online, and got a 404 File Not Found where the video was supposed to be.
I called the Chevrolet number, and after being put on hold a bit, was advised to return to the local Cheverolet dealer. They refunded the cost of the part and installed it free, under Goodwill warranty.
I'm all fixed now.
If you bought your 2006-2008 HHR used, see if it has the recalled glove box part installed. If not, you can probably get it done free the same way I just did.
VinceP, thanks for the pics. They were quite helpful. I knew exactly what was missing and needed to be added. My glove box doesn't rattle any more. However, the button on top is now a bit indented, rather than being flush with the lid, when it's closed.
