Got flat tire, outside temp on DIC displays dashes

I did a search and couldn't find a solution,so here goes...

I got a flat on the right front tire. I noticed as I was coming to a stop, the outside temp display on the DIV was showing as "---". AFAIK,this HHR (2007) did not have the TPMS yet.
I noticed on a car that I previously had (08 Impala) had TPMS,and what it displayed when the sensor broke off the stem. So,that being said, how is the outside temp being affected? Does something need to be reset?

The sensor connection could be loose or the ground wire

Right front is where the outside temp sensor is.... Somehow the flat could have disconnected or damaged the sensor. Or it's a total coincidence.

The temp sensor location is shown below. Yellow circle, behind that red metal square, attached somewhere around the unibody framing.
Donbrew has mentioned that in the latter years the sensor was moved to the grille area. Pretty sure on your 07 it's in the hard to find place like below.

I'd look at a wiring situation before just buying a new sensor...

Yes as I stated, loose connection or ground wire , it could have shook loose with that flat tire situation

Oldblue, you hit the nail on the head.

What I didn't say was that the tire did not have the stock lug nuts on it,I could not remove the tire. I nursed it off the highway about a 1/2 mile to a gas station, bought some Fix-A-Flat,used it,put in some air and drove home. Hours later,I removed the tire,as it went flat again, and looked under the car. The inner fenderwell is a bit shredded in one spot in the front;I found a wire hanging with a plug on it...and another wire...missing a plug, along with a MISSING FOGLIGHT.Housing and all, gone.
So,for all you HHR owners, with foglights,if your front tire goes flat,STOP DRIVING IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, you will be out $ for not just a tire, but a foglight capsule, bulb, socket.

Smh...

I suspect the wire missing something is the temp sensor. Autozone/advance list them under $10 IIRC.
