HELP!! Heater & A/C

Morning fellow Hhr owners. New & really lame to forums so please do not chew me a new one.
I have a 06 Hhr Ls. After going thru HELL & high water to replace the recalled shifter as well as the cable, the heater and A/C will not come on. The blower works fine but the air indicator switch does not seem to switch it from area to area.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also at the same time the information display on the dash stopped working at the same time.:

Good morning.

When you say "the information display on the dash stopped working at the same time" - do you mean that the digital temperature gauge display shows "----"?

If so, that can indicate that either the thermostat is jammed open not allowing it to come up to temperature fast enough (and the computer also disables the A/C).

It may also be an indication that the coolant is too low, and needs to be topped up. Have you checked the coolant level?
