P0300 misfire after changing coil pack and spark plugs
Today I changed all 4 spark plugs after getting a P0300 for random misfire. The timing chain was replaced. 2 links were stretched and the tensionor was busted. Today it ran so bad the check engine lights flashed. After changing the spark plugs ( which had oil on them in cylinder 2 and 3 ) it ran better, but still idled rough. Hoping it just needs coil packs, not a dead cylinder or bad valve seat. I did replace one coil pack on cylinder 2. Help! I need to fix this car! Thanks in advance. -Jenni. Ps, i posted about this on the Chevy HHR owners group on fb. Engine is a 2.4 DOC, Ecotech 2.4L.

And posting what the current are for the check engine light flashing would be a good next step. FYI: the coil packs are not a common failure point, and no, they do not go bad in pairs, or all 4 at once. The problems you are having now might be due to having let it run out of oil at the start of all your problems. So, get the engine error codes and post them here.
