Bulb.

High beams come on when you unlock the car, not the low beam.

Always start with the bulb.

But it could be the fuse box wiring issue that is common on some of the older models.

Dear sumo1,

I have read your post about your situation with your HHR. I am happy that you have made an appointment with the dealership about this. I apologize that your appointment is delay due to the lack of loaner vehicles.

Could you please provide me with an update of your visit to the dealership? This would allow me to know if I will need to take further steps to work towards a resolution with your situation.

Sincerely,
Michelle, Chevrolet Customer Service

bringing my own bulb for the next oil change is a great ideal! I am sure they have the tools to get in there and change it quickly.
Thanks!
