high beams cut out

Hello all...I replaced the headlamp/turn signal switch on my 06 LT1. When I push the switch forward to activate the high beams the lights go out completely. When I pull the switch to activate the flash to pass nothing happens. Any notions? It is a new switch and I didn't have this issue before I replaced it. Thanks for any help...this car makes me nuts!

If they were working before, I would say either a bad new switch, wrong switch or bad installation of switch(check the wiring plug-in)

Oh yeah. Welcome to the site.

If everything functioned before changing out the switch, then the new switch becomes the prime suspect.

Get another one from the vendor, it's possible to get a dud part right out of the box, I've had it happen a few times.

GM is rather famous for changing color codes at connectors. Check that the colors on both sides of the connector match.

Excellent point Don, to the OP, was this a "universal" switch or did you get it from a vendor using the specific model year?

Thanks for the replies. The switch was a new AC Delco bought online. I'll go in again and check the colors. Tested some other light functions and I think I'll be returning the switch if that checks out. Thanks again.
