Hit bump...car shut off!
Well, I only have one key on my key rings, so that is not the problem with my particular vehicles.
And, it is recommended to "check the fuses MONTHLY"???
Seriously?
So, on THIS particular brand new car, it is expected that I have to push in each of the individual fuses once a month, or 60 times over the next 5 years of ownership?
Not a chance!
I can buy doing it once. After that if there are any problems, I will be trading for an automobile that does not require such ridiculous maintenance...

If it is a connection problem at the fuse box under the hood you can usually duplicate the condition by tapping on the top or sides of the box. If doing that causes the vehicle to die out, then at least you can give good information to your dealer so they can duplicate your problem and get it fixed quicker hopefully.
When I bought my preowned SS, although the mileage was very very low, I took the advice on the SoCalHHRs website and checked & repressed in all of the fuses under the hood and inside kickplate and found a number of them that actually could move further into their seats. BCM1, 2 & 3 are inside and these might be the culprit. SoCal recommends checking them monthly. And it's extremely easy to do.
I love the HHR. It does most everything I want it to do and it is a fun vehicle, but if it has so many problems for the first year of ownership, then it is no wonder that the Japanese are passing GM up...
I want to be happy with it. Really I do, but mine is going to have to go in the shop (again) in the next few weeks to try and fix the rattling headliner, a clunk in the steering column, a new rattle/clunk in the front end, a chevy emblem full of water, etc.
I keep hearing, "Oh, you must have got a lemon..." Well it seems there are plenty of others with the exact same problems.
What a let down...
I just had a situation with my Solara which are sort of what you guys are talking about. Car wouldn't start. Had it towed to the dealer and he found moisture in the fuse box. Replaced all of the fuses, cleaned relays and off and running. If the right fuse/relay isn't making contact, it will send no signal to computer. Might also spray some contact cleaner in the box itself. Don't think it can hurt.
