Horn won't work

I removed a working OEM horn, and connected it's 2 wires to the 2 connections on an after market horn, and pushed the horn button briefly. I heard a kind of rough buzzing noise. I assumed that the horn relay got fried,so returned everything back to stock. The OEM horn would not work so I installed a new horn relay. Still the horn does not work. What have I fried?
Thanks.

Did you check the fuse?

The first thing I did was to look in the Owners Manual to see where the fuse was located. It showed the fuse in location55 on the under the hood fuse block. In location55 there was a gray, rectangular plastic, plug-in device. A GM parts department called it a horn relay. I replaced this to no avail. The horn does not work and the only fuse I can find is the relay I mentioned in my original post. If there is another fuse that protects the horn, I'd like to know about it.
Thanks.

I think you'll find that POSITION #60 is the fuse. Look in your Owners Manual or under the lid of the fuse box, to confirm.

You were right. I should have looked a bit further down the page. Slot 55 was for a relay. I neglected to look further down the page to slot 60, which really did have a fuse(blown) I wonder why the horn relay isn't listed with the rest of the relays instead of with the fuses. Thanks for your help.
