I have a clear type fluid leak right under this boot area. I recently had the tierods replaced, could it be power steering fluid?

HHR痴 don稚 have power steering fluid. They have an electrical assist motor inside the cabin. It does not contain fluid.

Welcome to the site, clear fluid ? Hmm, could be condensation from the AC drain on the passenger side, engine oil has a tint of brown to it, transmission fluid red to brown, Dexcool is an orange colour.
which side of the car are you seeing this fluid?

I wonder what the leak is then. It's always right under that boot on the steering column..i've checked everything else, doesnt look like brake fluid. is there fluid in the colum, but the boot is never wet so I was thinking it's a seal missing. it's on the passenger side what would leak above the boot. if it's a/c drain is there a way to stop it? thanks for your replies!

As I was typing and moving your post, you posted this , look at the AC drain rubber pipe passenger side towards centre of the car

That black rubber pipe

A closer look

I haven't used the a/c alot. the fluid has a very very small tint of brown, but if it's coming from the engine it would drip on something below that like the boot area, unless it's somehow sliding down the frame by the boot what would cause that? because everything above the leak area is dry. I've check oil level and it hasn't went down. Would the A/C drain that much tho and would that fluid be watery?

Fluid from ac drain is water. How about a photo or 2 of what and where you see the fluid

I can't get under the car to show what's above the leak it's right under that boot on the right passenger side, it's little ways away from the transmission pan close to the front right tire which is why I didn't think it was the problem. yet if it is a tranny leak I guess there wouldn't be any warning light or code showing until it's too late? No slippage or roughness while driving it. I haven't started it or driven it in a few days but it's still leaking and a small very light brown puddle formed without the engine getting hot. I used a paper towel and it's really light light brown almost clear, kind of sticky, My main oil level is full hasn't went down but the leak puddle has a different oil feel to it. I thought tranny oil would be more reddish? No way to check the tranny oil level? thanks for your kind replies I'm gonna have to take it in, I just thought there would be more of an indicator where it's coming from.

Sure. You can check the trans fluid level. There just isn稚 a dipstick. You have to pull a plug on the lower side of the trans.
So. No picture like Oldblue asked for ?
