ignition key stuck

Has anyone experienced the ignition cylinder not turning completely to the off position? I am not able to get the key out without jerking and wiggling around on the gear shift . It will finally turn to the position to allow the key to come out, but sometimes takes forever. Would this be a sensor or something like that, not getting the message that the Transmission is in the Park position?

Recall issue for the '06s. I thought the problem was taken care of on later years. Take it back to the dealer.

Mine went back in and the dealer fixed the issue.

fixed under warranty

I took my 06 HHR in to the dealer today and they did the repair under warranty. It was a control unit under the gear shift column. A $ 370.00 part and 1.5 hrs labour.

It is the shifter/lock mechanism. There is a small door on bottom of steering column. Pry it open, push button inside and remove key.

NO. There is a TSB, but no recall.
