interior lights

I have a tent that goes over the liftgate of my HHR. I want to have the liftgate open but not the mirror lights on. I can shut off the dome light. My question is should I pull the fuse or let the lights time out and go off? I want to have the liftgate open for over 24 hours. Any advise would be appreciated.

What about just dis connecting the negative battery terminal? I would think that if you just pull the fuse the drain on the battery would still be there.

You could just unplug the mirror.

I unplug the connector on the back of the mirror when I go to the drive in.
