Intermittent Airbag Light

Just recently I started my car and the airbag light stayed on and said service airbag on the dash. I restarted the car and it went away. Well i was driving it a different day more recently and it came on for a bit and went out. And has done that again once more, recently.

What could that be? Loose connector maybe? If it was a faulty part, wouldn't the light stay on?

There was an airbag system recall on my 09 SS, for a connector. I think it was behind the passenger front kick panel. The last time I tried to research it for someone, I couldn't find any reference to it.

You might check your recall status, there is a link in the recall forum.

Okay thank you. Ive never had recall work done before. Would i have to get proof of the bulletin and show a dealer and theyll do it for free? If it hasn't been done.

I hope that means that the previous owner took care of the recall work. Especially the Ignition recall. If you haven't had the ignition work done you need to do that also.
And no for taking in any paperwork. Recall work is done by the VIN. Call the dealer and set up an appointment. Take the car in and they'll check the VIN.

Thank you for that. What was the issues with the ignition? Ive been driving it for coming up on 3 years now. Had 215,000ish and now it just turned 250,000. And i haven't noticed anything off with the ignition.

They don't do recalls if it is not a deadly fault.
