Keyless entry problem

Hey guys I have a 2007 HHR the central door locks I'm trying to install a wireless key entry I am now on my third one
I can't seem to figure it out it works just fine until it's go time and then it doesn't have enough juice to do all for my supposed to splice the wires and send a wire to each one? And which wires am I supposed to connect it to I can't find any videos on YouTube for an HHR one

Hi Mike, to the forums!!

All HHRs came from the factory with Remote Keyless Entry.

So I called around and the dealer said it wasn't. How can I tell?

If you insist on installing an after market system you need to find the section in the instructions for "one wire" systems. It involves a resistor. That part is usually hidden away somewhere.

You can get a fob with a programmer module on ebay or any auto parts store that sells Dorman products.

So, you called around to who? By "dealer" I guess you mean the used car lot you bought from? Just because it did not have a fob on the ring does not mean it's not on the car.

I helped somebody in this thread: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/prob...s-entry-59242/

No I called the Chevy dealership that contacted me about the recall and they said that it was never installed on their computer actually was never checked yes or no

So after I buy a fob and I find the resistor then what do I do?

Did you ask about remote KEYLESS ENTRY or remote VEHICLE START? It is possible that no remote START was installed. I have never heard of RKE not installed. Look for "AP3" on the sticker on the glove box door. And scroll through the personalization menu in the DIC (info in your Owner Manual, see link in my sig)

If you get the fob with a programming module you follow the directions that come with it.

If you intend to install the after market module read the thread I linked to previously.
