Lazy shoulder harness belt

The driver harness was slow to retract so I used this on it

https://www.lowes.com/pd/DuPont-11-o...ricant/1059839

Pulled the belt all the way out and lightly sprayed it where it enters the plastic molding, continued to spray the belt as it retracted in. Sprayed the buckle/loop also.
It does have a kind of sweet odor to it but it slowly goes away in a few days. The belt retracts all the time and doesn't hang up where it get's caught in the door jamb.

Not sure I'd want to spray any type of lubricant on the seat belt mechanism. Wouldn't want it to slip when you really needed it.

Blue I found mine at Ace Hardware. I used Lowes as an example of the product.

Oh, great thanks. Now does that leave any marks on your clothing?

Man, that is a really good question. I would sure think so, if the lube is sprayed on the webbing material itself. I would expect grease stains on my shirts.

I've been wrong before though.

It's a dry teflon spray so it shouldn't leave any residue on your clothing. I use the WD40 Specialist dry lube on the belts and door gaskets and frames to keep them from freezing together.

WELL, did the spray help on the LAZY seatbelt return? I have to spoon-feed mine back in every time. Thats what i was wondering about. Is it like buying used brake shoes? Buy new belt and retractor?

New. There is an explosive pellet in it that locks it on impact. Junkyards may not sell them, don't know for sure.
