Lemon?
What a joke. Seems our 2007 HHR with only 35K miles is falling apart now that it is out of warranty.
Under warranty we had steering motor replaced, both front sway bar links, wheel bearing, fuel injectors and rail, along with a few other parts.
Now out of warranty, it sits in a private shop waiting for more parts. Front bushings on A arms, Evap vent solenoid and anti sway solenoid?
The wind screen arm bracket is broken, had to remove the cloth screen and now it won't close up tight. (Waiting for replies to my post under that subject) Tires are already worn out, the info center always saying freeze conditions even with warm weather and get this, Have to wait until the interior warms up to at least 50 degrees before the radio will come on. Also experiencing lighting problems as while driving the dash lights flicker.
Soon to be traded off. I hate to get rid of it as I love it's looks but the mechanics of it are the pits.

My wife's 09 gets parked for the winter months but I get out every few weeks&fire it up/maybe take it around the block if there ain't a bunch a salt. To keep things in working order ya know.
Maint. is the key
@Gregad, thank you for sharing what you’re going through with your HHR. I have documented your comments about the vehicle as this will allow many departments within General Motors to read what you’re experiencing with the vehicle. I greatly appreciate your feedback.

This car only gets driven by my wife and once in a while by me. She drives about 2 miles to work daily and an occasional 10 mile trip shopping. All of our cars are low miles except for my truck which gets miles put on it.
Most of the stuff that has been replaced was under warranty. No out of warranty.
Anyway, got it back yesterday from a independent shop, not the dealer. They replaced a bunch of bushings and it is better handling then it ever has been. The mechanic showed me the problems. Seriously! A bushing the dealer missed with half of the rubber missing. It was not molded right from the factory.
This car has sentimental value to my wife and she says she wants to keep it.
I guess I blame the dealership for not seeing the problems. We never had a front wheel drive vehicle before so wasn't sure what the handling properties were. Now we Know!
Also the Evap solenoid got replaced along with the wiring harness. It showed bad connectors so I had the mechanic replace it too. He done a full 4 wheel alignment on it and soon all new good tires. Factory tires are 30K miles warranty according to the tire dealer.
It is a nice looking car.

seems the 2007 HHR was not well built
I bought a 2006 in June of 2006 a week later I co signed for one for my son's girlfreind she had the speakers popping from having the volumn up and turning the radio off they never could find the reason. She had a water pump replaced with low mileage on it but had let it sit after a accident for a year of so , didn't have the $1,000 deductable , She switched from a $250 deductible after they raised her insurance big mistake a deer ran in front of her on the expressway at 70 $5,000 something damage to the frontend. She let it set 2 months after before having it fixeed and the insurance company wouldn't pay for the damage. I been lucky with my 2006 only a wheel bearing at 70,000 new tires near 90,000 but now at 102,300 it is running rough. I am hoping not the ECM , just plugs.
Join the club Gregad! Mine is a lemon (2007 was the "bad" year) as the suspension/steering noises, clunks, thunks, rattles were never resolved under warranty either. The four ditinctive front end noises annoy me daily and has ruined an otherwise enjoyable car that I love and keep looking better than new. My last GM car for sure. Never again. Stuck with it for quite a while longer.
