Letter from GM for ignition lock cylinder
thats funny my 2009 isnt under the recall as i just spoke to the dealer friday about that and the on going airbag light problem BUT GM just issued another airbag recall on 1.8 million of their suv's made between 2007 and 2011 for the same issue a lot of us have but the HHR does not seem to be covered..GM is an odd company.all the parts are the same made by the same company..if they recall some they should recall them all..
You couldn't be more wrong with the statement above. There are different airbags systems for different models/years. Yes, some can be the same and overlap between models/years but you're statement that since they're GM they're all the same. Well, that's just hogwash.
Besides. These parts are made by different vendors and suppliers at times so how could they be the same for all of them.
I know you're just a disgruntled owner that wants to vent but saying false statements is not the way to do it.
You stated in another post that you were going to sell your car and get rid of the problem. That is probably the best thing to do.

They were however, part of the old "good will" replacement of the key cylinder by GM.
Two seperate issues between the recall and the "good will" thing(or whatever it was called) I had mine replaced last year.
My letter came today, its a call notice # 14063 listed as a safety recall.
18 PAGES!!!!!!!!
Does any body bother to look at the first page?
Now we have 18 pages of people not knowing what they mean, because they did not read THE FIRST PAGE!
There is a recall, everybody is aware of it! Now just read the FIRST PAGE and find out what the recall actually means. It is not hiding anywhere.
JEEZ!

Two Thumbs up for Don, man that guy needs a some Goody's headache powder, now read the first page from way back in MAY 22, 2012, I save you the effort to go back
Did anybody see that this letter did not say RECALL, so let's give Don a well deserved break and stop beating a dead horse!! whoa !! mules, as Yosmite Sam would say!!
Got a letter from GM today for my 2010 HHR. It doesn't say RECALL on it but says to call the dealer about replacing the ignition lock cylinder and the potential problems with it. Also says they will reimburse for any locks that have already been replaced. I haven't had any trouble with mine but I know many on here have. Anyone else get a letter?
