Manual Shifters - Both Match

See photos below. In the photos with both, the shifter on the left came out of my son's HHR. The shifter on the right is from a junkyard Cobalt. They are identical including "GM>PA6 GF30<" stamped on the top and "9920010" stamped on the bottom.

I also checked and the shift cables ends fit correctly into the receiving clips. So, anyone in need of a manual shifter can check the junkyards for Cobalts as well. Still don't know why the part numbers are different, but if it works....

However, note the Suppl-No (Supplier Number?) is the same and both made in Germany.

Is this an optical illusion? They look totally different to me. The mounting holes are different.

Possibly the left unit has a more robust nylon arm at the shifter ball
It might be camera angle.

Same shifter assembly but the main shifter arm is different between the 2. Is one of those longer than the other ?

If you look at the comparison pics from the bottom view, they appear to be the same. All that's left is installation and testing.

In case anyone is looking, these "recyclers" (used to call them junkyards) have some:

Does the shaft on the right look bent?
Did the Cobalt shifter work in the HHR?

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't done the swap yet because I'm trying to find new cables so I can swap it all at once.

If anyone knows where I can find the cables, please let me know. No GM dealer has any leftover stock. I ordered from several dealers claiming to have them only to have the orders cancelled and my money refunded after they didn't actually have the part.

I tried the ones listed on Amazon but the pin diameter is different and they won't go into the receiving clips on the shifter.
