My HHR rides like a crappy ole truck!
Its interesting but alot of people dont realise they need new shocks struts untill they get changed for whatever reason,,,,, then they immediatly feel the difference and ask themselves why they waited so long.....like old shoes shocks grow on you and slowly wear out..so you may not ever notice it until they are gone.
Just so there's hope for improvement, that's good.
So, look at shocks, struts, links, front sway, sway bar links?
How do I know to replace with original equipment or which to upgrade?
This is all really helpful, thanks.

Hi, cool tires & rims BTW. Are the wheels from WheelVintique? Anyway, Monroe sells front struts that already have the springs loaded , plus they have the upper mounting kit (often over looked when replacing struts) included. I just ordered a set for $277 & change, shipped. Have them replaced at an alignment shop. The car WILL NEED to be re-aligned after replacing the struts. The sway bar end links by Moog are the best (easy DIY job). Sway bar bushings are different sizes, so provide your vin # to the parts guy at the dealership, ask him the diameter (inches or MM) and go to aftermarket polyurethane replacements(again easy DIY job). The part #s all depend on whether you have an LS,LT,ect.A good place to look up the parts is partstrain.com. While you are at it , rear shocks ar not very expensive, and an easy DIY job also. Goo Luck.
Moog links
I ordered from Rock Auto they got here today had them instelled at Midas, the old ones were shot rides like new have ordered the bushings regreasable will get them next week and get installed next week.
