Welcome to the site!
Either your GM dealer or a qualified locksmith for that key
Has the ignition recall be done to the car? You can tell if the black plastic part of the key has a small hole and not a crescent shaped slot were the key ring fits thru.
Drop by your local GM dealer and they can run your VIN number to determine if the recall was done. It will include two keys

Oldblue. I'm going to have to disagree with your little hole/crescent shaped slot comparison.
My 2010 bought new, came with keys that had the little hole. The replacement keys I got with the ignition recall fix looked identical to the originals. I think GM had already changed to the small holed keys in the later years but before the recall.
In other words. The style of key may not tell if the recall work has been done. Best to check with the local GM dealer.

Well then that is concurrent with the 2010 and 2011 models , I was going by my 2007 model year, so yes then the VIN would have to be double checked to confirm the ignition recall had been done
Now if it has had the recall done then just have the dealer cut you a new key to your VIN number to programme the chip accordingly.
Thank you FMG for pointing out the key differences.
