I'm not sure, I think if you get one from the same year and model you might get away with no programming. Somebody with a Tech2 or similar computer with SPS could do it.

I got a junkyard module and installed it today. Now I have C0460_4b (Steering position sensor calibration not learned) and C0551_47 (Option configuration error VIN not programmed). I can go through the steering sensor angle relearn procedure with my Foxwell scanner. This temporarily clears the ABS and TCS light. But they eventually come back after I restart the car. I think like OldBlue said, I will have to get the EBCM reprogrammed. Hopefully I can find someone next week that can do this without having to visit the stealership.

Good news is the BRAKE light is not on any more. 1 down 2 to go.

Thanks

You should be able to set the VIN with your tool. It would be in the SPS area.
Evidently you are missing a step in learning the position, the actual name is " not accomplished" a bit different to "not learned". It is possible that the CAN wires are not connected right.

I was never able to get the code to clear with my Foxwell scanner. I found a local shop that will program it for $130, just have not taken it to them yet.

Weird thing is when/if I remote start the car with my key fob, the ABS and TC light goes off on my dash. If I turn it off and restart with the key in the IGN switch, they come back on. Must be something in the BCM that does not check for the code when its remote started.

If you intend to drive after a RVS you have to put the key in and turn it to run; thusly enabling ABS & TC.

Thats what I did. As I was driving down the road, I looked down at the dash and no ABS or TC light. I first thought that it might have cleared itself after so many warm-up cycles. Then it dawned on me that I had started it remotely.
When I got to where I was going, I turned it off/on with the key. The ABS and TC lights came back on then. Tried it again with the remote start. After I put the key in and turn it to ON, the security light goes off, but the TC and ABS light never comes on.
