There was and extended warranty that was so long it might as well be lifetime. 999,999 miles or through 2040 or something. Also a recall. Which applies depends on the year. Most non-SS HHR's are covered, but I have seen reports of $0 repairs even for the few non-SS cars that are technically not covered. Apparently GM really really doesn't want you to die due to a bad ps motor.

Any GM dealer can address this. Some have never heard of this, so make sure they check for both the recall and the extended warranty. By all accounts, persistence pays.

These are $0 repairs, but there are many reports of dealers trying to tack on bs charges.

In the US the company (GM) issues the same letter as the NHTSA. Basically NHTSA tells the company to produce a document then the company writes a document that then gets approved by NHTSA; in the end it is the same document on different letterhead.
I don't know how it works in Canada.
