No chime when door is opened with key still in ignition, cylinder or switch? Both?
Ok I bought a tech 2 scanner and it has a B1380 code and it shows Ignition Switch Fault = Yes under the remote start disable history. This tool is awesome I also used it to program a spare new fob I had.
I’ll take another good look to make sure no wires are gouged missing from the PO’s stereo install and if not I’ll source and replace the switch. I shouldn’t have to replace the cylinder too do I? I’m not sure if it provides a ground signal or something when the key is inserted.
You said it was factory stereo. If the PO tried to install without a GMLan module he probably tried to steal a signal from some silly spot. Which is why I asked about it.
B1380 pertains to the ACC circuit. 01 is a short to BAT. 02 is short to ground.
That’s gotta be what that blue wire was!! Yes it definitely had an amp/stereo but it was removed and replaced with the factory stereo before it got sold. I never mentioned that I apologize
Now that I think of it the solenoid that releases the key also doesn’t work it’s surely related
