Depends...in HVAC we sometimes flush out an A/C system with refrigerant oil but effective fuel system cleaning requires a solvent like Pro Inject-R Kleen and a pressurized fuel injector canister

Diesel fuel, on the other hand.... That's what those "add to the tank" cleaners are.

Correct db/sb I just took apart the entire fuel system from the fuel rail and ejector and flushed out from there looking for deposits there is a protective film in the injectors so you don't want to harm that but there was sediment in the injectors and by rinsing them essentially in gas it freed up a blockage at least a little bit to improve idle. What worries me is when I took off the tire to check the wheel hub and rotated the tire if something internally broke in the transmission. I repeatedly disconected the battery and waited for the computer to reset before reattaching but the problem didn't change. It's getting towed to a shop tomorrow as most everyone is thinking it's a solenoid or a torque converter problem. Still don't know how just lifting the wheel and taking off the tire caused all this.

Assuming the latter, it would probably be worthwhile at this point to pull the injectors and spark plugs, keeping them in order for cylinder diagnosis. Let us know what you find.
on the high side of the port on cylinder 4 there was deposits of an accumulated rust and the spark plugs all looked to be burning efficiently even the number 4 plug. I rinsed out the high side of the injectors and the fuel rail and found sediments coming out of fuel rail. I then ran the fuel pump into a clear clean container and noticed a white hazy sediment in the bottom when it settled. I did it again and there wasn't any more contaminants present. the fuel pump is pumping out at 60 on my gauge consistently. Also the electronic throttle body is not at faux either so it seems to be electrical. Still haven't been able to rent a code reader trying to ask around to borrow one before it goes to the shop this weekend and I have to shell out a ton

codes a must have... but realy sounds like mine when I had a bad purge valve sensor
you know the$14 dollar one under the hood....

Purge Valve Solenoid controls the flow of fuel fumes from the canister to the engine
When not replaced, vehicle may run rich causing excessive fuel consumption, failed emission test, and/or CEL illumination

Somebody recently reported about sediment in the rail, on the far end if I remember correctly. Maybe you shook it up and got it mad at you. (a joke, already) but disturbing sediment can cause later problems.

Only way I can think of to mess with the trans by jacking it up is by not knowing where the jack points are. You seem to have an understanding of that sort of thing.

Improvement of idle usually come with throttle body cleaning.

Simple test if it is a bad purge solenoid I am guessing not.

RonP I had replace that about a year ago as it does fail after a while on the HHR.

Sorry for being MIA it turns out after pulling codes all we got back were these ones
0016
0030
0053
0128
0135
0138
0171

if your familiar with them their mostly O2 sensor and a cmp sensor failure well after more digging I found my 2.2 when it has a cmp failure may be due to timing. So I opened up the cable cover an found pieces of my chain guide. Apparently the 07's had a problem with the tension bolt hole and the spring tensioners were replaced by hydronic ones In 2009 I got a timing kit set TDC and now I'm running pretty again. I'm still throwing o2 sensor codes and will take it to a muffler shop to have them test for any leaks and for proper voltage my old cat fell off while driving due to the flex pipe coming apart violently and it caused problems with the wiring it was supposedly fixed. Well see about that though.
