No power and key in stuck switch

I am getting my car ready to pull behind the motor home. Owners manual states to pull fuse # 8 on inside fuse block. I read on the internet to put a switch on the fuse #8 so it does not have to be pulled every time. I made up a simple switch and installed it tried it out and now I have no power to anything! I removed the switch and installed the fuse back into the block but have no power any where and cant take key out. I have checked all fuses and they are ok and there is no power ( interior lights, door lock, windows) but there is power at the front battery connection. What did I do wrong?

In checking the fuses did you also re-seat them? I've read they can become loose over time and with you working in the area maybe one became dislodged....... just a thought.

I have checked all fuses and even disconnected the battery for 20 min. still nothing. Well guess Ill call the dealer and have it towed to get it fixed. It figures I just worked some overtime last week and there it goes.

Did you check the fuse that is back by the battery? That 50 amper sends power to other circuits such as those your interior lights are on. There is a another direct cable that goes to the front of the car and you would have power at that point, which you say you do. I would look at that big fuse by the spare tire and if it is blown, you sure did short something.
