Hey,
I seem to be having the same problem...
Around every other time I drive somewhere the radio will turn on, but fail to produce any sound from CD, AM/FM, or Aux Input. This started about a week ago with no prior troubles with the radio until then.

To all of you who had this fixed by the dealerships... was this problem considered a factory error?

I bought my '06 HHR LT used from a dealership 6 months ago so the Warranty is over... Think it might still be covered?

If not, any ideas on what is reasonable to be charged to fix this before I bring it in for repairs?

I took a long drive to the dealership with no radio...

For $50 the dealership kept my HHR for 2 days just to tell me there's nothing wrong with it. No Error Codes in the computer and no problems they could see. The radio didn't work when I handed over the keys but (magically) as soon as they went to start it it worked fine and continued to work fine each time they started it.

Skip ahead 3 weeks... the issue went away on its own until it happened again yesterday and now happens every other time I start the engine!

Please help! The dealership obviously couldn't!!

Had the same problem before...loose fuse. Go under the hood and make sure they are all seated well.
