No temp CEL on

Just bought car and the temp gauge and readout showed no temp. then it worked and last night it did it again and CEL came on. I read your posts regarding this and to use AC Delco 131-158 thermostat but can not find one. Any suggestions? Also you mention this does not have the rubber gasket-do you not need one? Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I have only had car 2 weeks and it seems to really be in good shape and hope to keep it that way and since I have not had the best of luck with anything that runs, truck, waverunner, riding lawnmower etc. I want this one last.

to the forums!

Just Google the part number 131-158. Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, eBay, rockauto. They're available, sometimes really expensive, expect to pay at least $40.

It has the rubber gasket on the perimeter still but not in the middle on the valve
