P0014 after installing new Actuator

At around 280,000 miles, I started getting a P0010 a couple of weeks ago. I had got this in the past at around 140,000 miles and replaced the actuator. About a week ago, I was also getting a P0011 (I had replced this actuator around the same time as the other in the 140K range). I was having some severe intermittent rough idling. I replaced both actuators this morning. The car ran fine afterwards.

This afternoon, I started to get the rough idle again and a P0014 code. Any ideas what is going on?

If you replaced both, check the wiring connector on the exhaust. Or it was bad out of the box.

Is the oil fresh?

I am due for an oil change. The last one I replaced a few years ago was bad out of the box.

I will change the oil and see if that improves things. I didn't seem to have any issues getting the connector on but may take it off to make sure the pins aren't bent.

Thanks for the tips. I will let you know what I find.

The diagnostics for VVT codes always start with "change the oil" The screen gets clogged.

I did an engine flush and an oil change today. We will see how that goes.
