#111
I think it is blue. I didn't have these troubles working in Hamilton last year! I really couldn't believe my eyes. Then there boss comes and tries to tell me how to do it. I said, you can just F off sir. I don't need any advice.

So just make sure I'm ordering the timing chain kit and tensioner right? We need those for sure?

Yes, no matter what engine we get I would reccomend the timing kit. Get the complete set with timing and balance chain. A water pump is a good safe bet as well. I believe I linked the one I got a few pages back. Comes with everything we'll need to do the job. The rest really depends on your budget. Bearings are relatively cheap (Rod and Main bearings). The best thing we can do is rebuild it, which is pretty thorough. Let's see, if I miss anything somebody chime in!
For a complete rebuild;
Check out GMpartsdirect.com
-Timing/Balance chain set (comes with guides and new sprockets)
- Water pump (included with the correct timing chain kit)
- Thermostat (AC Delco!!)
- Cylinder head gasket
- Valve seals (not exactly needed but they are cheap insurance)
- Cylinder head bolts (must have new ones if we take it off)
- Harmonic Balancer Bolt
- Main and Rod Bearings
- Trans Filter
And then we'll need all the fluids;
- 2 Full strength GAL of Dexcool
- 5/6 Qt of Mobil 1 Synthetic
- New trans fluid, the Auto uses 12.5 Qts. Not sure about the 5 spd
Like I said, Im probably forgettėng something....not even sure what day it is anymore! But these are parts to take into consideration. What it will come down to is budget. My time isn't free.. but it's not going to cost anywhere near what it should. (I'm flexible wth your situation, obviously, or I wouldnt have offered to help). With a job like this we're going to put in 30-40 hours easily. As I said before, plan on it being at my house a month.
