Post P0171 (System too Lean Bank 1)

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. Recently my dads 2007 HHR displayed the CEL. When I checked it, the code was P0171. The car struggles to turn. It cranks but it won't turn on unless you keep trying a few times.

About 2 weeks ago I replaced the air filter, I used either a STP or a Fram one from Autozone. I cannot remember which one.

A week later my parents took a trip to San Francisco and when they got back my dad said the car was having problems and wouldnt start right away.

This led him to go buy a code scanner and the code came up as P0171.

I was reading posts related to this code and saw that "bad gas" could cause this and mess up the injectors. If this is it, Can someone please show me ways of checking the injectors?

I forgot to mention, this morning I went to buy the Lucas fuel additive. I drove it around for about 20 minutes and still has the problem. Also the MPG dropped from 27+/- to now 21+/-

Here is a video of the problem.

Thanks in advance. :)

My 2008 had the same code. Hard to start but ran good when I drove it. I checked the fuel pressure and it showed 8 pounds less pressure than it should have. I had the fuel pump replaced and fixed the problem.

How would I go about checking the fuel pressure myself?
